MUEHLBAUER MEA
Cut & Place, our patented unit, converts two subgaskets and one CCM (catalyst-coated membrane) into a complete 5-layer MEA web, fully synchronized and 1Hz-ready, without generating CCM waste. Our GDL (gas diffusion layer) placement units handle both fleece- and paper-based materials, monitored by vision technology. A precision cutting unit then separates the web into individual MEA sheets, with 100% inline inspection. Once assembled, each MEA moves on to be stacked into a complete fuel cell system.

FUEL CELL STACK
Our stacking system stacks the finished MEAs together with BPPs (bipolar plates) to build complete fuel cell stacks, covering automotive, aviation, energy storage and marine applications, fully or semi-automated. Customized magazines feed BPP and MEA as input materials, with pick & place heads and automatic "MB on the Fly" inspection correcting placement in the x, y and theta directions without stopping the movement.
