Mühlbauer ID Services Supplies Blank Documents for the New ePassport

Mühlbauer ID Services has been selected by the State Registration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as the winner in the competitive bidding and will soon be supplying new generation passport forms to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As part of a major project to modernize the country's security infrastructure, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, in order to ensure the security and integrity of national passports, has decided to introduce biometric passports to replace the current one. The current passport is a machine-readable document (according to Doc 9303 ICAO) with a paper data page, without a chip and without a digital photo, digital signature and fingerprints.

Thanks to the successful implementation of a joint project between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Mühlbauer ID Services, Kyrgyz citizens will be able to use highly reliable biometric identification documents for the first time that meet all requirements of the latest version of ICAO Doc 9303.

During the three-year contract period – from 2020-2023 – citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be able to use highly reliable biometric identification documents. - Mühlbauer ID Services provides delivery of more than 1.5 million forms of documents, which will be personalized using existing equipment in the SRS under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. On April 27, 2020, the State Registration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, represented by the SRS, determined Mühlbauer ID Services as the winner of the tender among two other companies participating in the tender.

The contract signing ceremony was held on May 29, 2020. Due to the current restrictions on the movement of COVID-19, the contract was signed via video conference. This proves that by using the latest technology, all restrictions related to COVID-19 can be overcome and - in strict compliance with all recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) - it is still possible to maintain international business relations and create new business opportunities.

In connection with the forthcoming updating of Kyrgyz travel documents, the Chairman of the State Registration Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Mambetaliev Akyn Mirovich, noted that “This is a great step forward for the Kyrgyz Republic, which will make our country not only more progressive, but also much safer.”

In turn, representatives of Mühlbauer ID Services noted that the company guarantees all necessary support for the uninterrupted supply of blank documents to provide even greater opportunities in the international market for all citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
