Muehlbauer will connect its birth certificate card production and verification, digital credential, enrollment and population registry solutions with five other identity providers through the OSIA standard, live, 1–3 December 2026.

Muehlbauer ID Services GmbH today announced its participation in the OSIA Live Interoperability Demo at TRUSTECH Paris, 1–3 December 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Hosted by the Secure Identity Alliance, the demo brings together six identity technology providers, DIGITECH, iDAKTO, IN Groupe, Muehlbauer, Thales and X Infotech, to run a complete birth registration across their systems, connected through OSIA (ITU-T Recommendation X.1281).
Visitors play the child whose birth is being registered. Once the parent’s identity has been checked and the visitor has given their details and a live face capture, the birth is registered and a unique identification number is attributed to them. They then receive a birth certificate on the spot, with their data and portrait printed on a card together with a visible digital seal (QR code), and verify it with a mobile app that collects the data from the different OSIA-powered identity systems. Each day, a different combination of vendors runs the same scenario, which shows that any OSIA-compliant component can be swapped for another without rebuilding the system.
Muehlbauer produces and verifies the birth certificate card, covering credential management, personalization, document signing and ICAO VDS verification. It also issues the digital credential and runs enrollment and the population registry.
For governments, the demo shows OSIA at work: the freedom to choose and combine components from different suppliers, upgrade part of a system without replacing the rest, and protect long-term investment in national identity infrastructure, starting with the birth certificate on which every other identity document rests.
